GENESIS FUELTECH TO DEVELOP PORTABLE FUEL CELL POWER SYSTEM FOR US ARMY

Genesis Fueltech Inc. announces that has entered into a contract with the US Army for development of a portable 250-watt fuel cell power and battery charging system.

Target weight of the total system is less than 25 pounds. This system will incorporate a liquid-fueled Genesis reformer capable of generating ultra pure hydrogen on demand.

The fuel source will be a blend of methanol and water and the reformer will utilize Genesis’ patent pending fuel conversion technology.

Genesis fuel processors have consistently demonstrated the highest net system efficiencies and are the only compact hydrogen generators that automatically “load track” and are instantly responsive to the hydrogen needs of a fuel cell.

The larger Genesis Model 20L systems (1.3 kilowatts) are being tested in long-term demonstration projects in New Zealand and Poland. A second generation of the Model 20L has been developed for stationary and mobile power system projects now starting in Europe and the USA.

Headquartered in Spokane, Washington, Genesis Fueltech Inc. is a world leader in manufacturing high efficiency methanol fuel processors and in the design of compact integrated methanol reforming fuel cell systems.
